Lionel Messi was the difference between FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the semi final of UEFA Champions League as two excellent strikes from the maestro changed the course of the game. Catalan defender Javier Mascherano believes that talent of Messi is impossible to describe.
FC Barcelona have all but secured a place in the finals of the Champions League as they have huge 3-0 advantage over Bayern Munich.
Javier Mascherano, who himself had a game to remember as he made some great interceptions, was in awe of Leo Messia s superb performance against Bayern Munich.
“We have Messi so it’s an advantage for us. He’s a player that’s impossible to describe. You have to watch him,a Mascherano told Sky Sports.
Mascherano also said that FC Barcelona players were expecting a high pressing game from Bayern Munich and same thing happened. “We knew that Guardiola would try to win in any stadium. They came to press higher and sometimes when you press higher you take risks. We know that we have people up front with quality.
“It was a tight game, difficult, but we had the best chances to score. We played the game we wanted to play so we are happy.a
FC Barcelona are obviously the favorites now but Javier Macherano was not overwhelmed with the win and said that they have to maintain their focus and play well in the second leg. “We know how difficult it will be in Germany so we have to maintain our mentality and do our job.”
