Manchester United sent scouts to watch the Colombian striker shine in the Champions League.
Manchester United will surely be in the market for a new striker in the upcoming transfer window. After the sale of Welbeck, failure of Falcao and age catching up with Van Persie, Manchester United are only left with two choices upfront, Wayne Rooney and James Wilson. While Rooney is still world-class and has a lot of football left in him, Wilson still needs time to get to the level of his compatriot.

Colombian striker, Jackson Martinez seems to have caught the eye of Louis Van Gaal as the manager sent scouts to watch him play against Bayern Munich, according the Daily Mail.
The FC Porto player has previously expressed his desire to leave the Portuguese club after playing there for 3 seasons. And reports of Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool being interested in the striker were doing rounds. However, it now seems like the Red Devils are taking serious steps in order to sign the Colombian.
Manchester Uniteda s problems upfront were highlighted in their defeat to Chelsea. Injuries to Carrick and Blind had forced Rooney to drop deep into the midfield, which meant Falcao had to play as a loan striker. In Martinez, Manchester United have the perfect replacement to the striker and the Colombian will be an ideal signing in the summer.
