It seems that days of Xavi Hernandez at FC Barcelona are numbered as the club legend has made up his mind to leave the club this summer. The maestro has not finalized his future destination yet but it seems most likely that he will be playing either in Qatar or in the USA next season.

Xavi, 35, was the linchpin of FC Barcelonaa s midfield during the Guardiola era. However, the pass maestro has lost his place in the starting XI under new coach Luis Enrique now and it seems that this is going to be the last season of Xavi as a player at FC Barcelona.

Xavi was arguably the most important player of FC Barcelona during their days of their dominance between 2008 to 2012. The maestro controlled the tempo of each and every game during their era of European supremacy. But he is 35 now and has lost his pace, an essential component of FC Barcelonaa s play. This reduced ability of Xavi has forced Luis Enrique to leave him out of his starting XI this season.

The maestro came close to leave FC Barcelona last summer but new coach Luis Enrique and all the teammates, including his close friends Leo Messi and Andres Iniesta, persuaded him to extend his stay and unanimously selected him as the captain for 2014-15 season. But it is no secret that Luis Enrique prefers Ivan Rakitic ahead of Xavi in his midfield.

Another reason for Xavia s desire to leave FC Barcelona is the demanding playing style of Blaugrana. The tiki-taka playing style of Catalans requires tremendous amount of energy and fitness but Xavi is finding it difficult to cope with the same.

It is being reported that Xavi has already received an offer worth 6 million euros a year from Qatar and he is seriously considering this offer. Another club who is interested in signing Xavi is new MLS franchise New York City.

New York City made an offer for Xavi last year also but the midfielder refused the same. However, Xavi is now interested in taking that offer.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the plans of Xavi to leave FC Barcelona.

Marca has claimed in its story that Xavi HernA?ndez is considering life after FC Barcelona as the 35-year-old plans to leave the club at the end of the season despite the fact that he will still have one year remaining on his contract. The club captain is featuring less and less in Luis Enrique’s plans and has consequently started pulling some strings in search of a future solution.
