Real Madrid have received a big boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus as arch rivals FC Barcelonaa s transfer ban has been sanctioned by Court of Arbitration and Los Blancos are now the clear front runners for the signature of the German.

Marco Reus has become a hottest property in world football nowadays as he has refused to extend his contract, which expires in 2016, at Borussia Dortmund and his buy-out clause comes down to just 25 million euros in the summer of this year.

Host of top European clubs, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Man City, PSG and Man United are interested in the services of Marco Reus. However, the real fight is only between Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

FC Barcelona are now out of the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund attacker as Court of Arbitration has rejected an appeal filed by the Catalans against the transfer ban which was handed over to them few months back. FC Barcelona would not be able to buy any player until January 2016 and this spoils their chances of getting Marco Reus in the summer of 2015.

Bayern Munich were hot in their pursuit of Marco Reus earlier but the management of Borussia Dortmund is absolutely not ready to sale their key player to one of the Bundesliga rivals.

Real Madrid have sensed this as an perfect opportunity to sign Marco Reus and the club is now extremely confident of getting their man from Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and Germany have also confirmed that Real Madrid are now the clear favorites to land Marco Reus. Madrid based newspaper Marca has claimed in its report that The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling upholding Bar a’s transfer ban puts Real Madrid very much in the driving seat in the race for Marco Reus. The Borussia Dortmund star has informed the ‘Azulgranas’ that he is determined to move on at the end of this season and so he will not wait around for the punishment to be lifted. As such, the 25-year-old now has one fewer name on his list of potential destinations.

Meanwhile, another reason that makes Real Madrid the frontrunners to get Marco Reus is the verbal agreement between Florentino Perez and Borussia Dortmund president Reinhard Rauball.

It is being reported in the Spanish and German media that Real Madrid president has a verbal pact with Borussia Dortmund over the potential transfer of Marco Reus in summer of 2015.
