Antonio Conte has left Juventus after his contract was mutually terminated. Massimiliano Allegri and Roberto Mancini have been linked with the vacant post.
Reports in Italy suggest that Conte resigned from his job after the 44-year-old disagreed with the clubai??i??s transfer policy this summer.
The former Italian international, who made over 400 appearances for Bianconeri as a player, was appointed at Juventus as a replacement for Luigi Delneri in 2011. Conteai??i??s arrival changed Juventusai??i?? fortune as they went on to win the Serie A title after a gap of nine years.
Conte brought with himself a new style of play at the club and Juventus prospered under his philosophy. The Italian manager went on to lift three league titles in a row and established himself as one of the most respected managers in Europe.
Despite their domestic success, Juventus struggled in the Champions League and Conte knew that the squad needed a lot more quality to compete in Europe. He urged the board to strengthen the squad this summer and a host of players were linked with a move to Juventus. But the Italian club passed on the chance to sign Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Alexis Sanchez and finally when the management backed off from Juan Iturbe, Conte lost his patience and resigned.
“I have decided to terminate my contract with Juventus.
“I have matured with time and my feelings led me to make this choice. It mayAi??be more difficult to keep winning with Juventus.
“An enormous thank you for what you have given to me as a player and as aAi??coach. I have always been close to you. I want to say that the journey taken inAi??recent years has been historic.” ai??i?? Conte said after he announced his decision.
Conte has now been linked to take up the role of the manager of the Italian national team, which is currently vacant after Cesare Prandelli resigned from the post after they were knocked out of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, former AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has been linked with Juventus, along with former Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini. Mancini quit his job at Galatasaray after a disagreement over transfer policy, while Allegri was sacked at AC Milan following some disappointing performances.
