This is going to be the summer of transition for FC Barcelona. We list down the three players Blaugrana must sign to make serious assault on titles in Spain and Europe again.
This summer transfer window is arguably the most important one in the history of FC Barcelona. With club legends Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes are gone, Xavi is far away from his brilliant best, Iniesta turning 31 and change in the coaching staff; FC Barcelona management must make very conscious efforts while they prepare themselves for hectic two months of transfer window ahead.
The process of squad overhaul has already started at the Camp Nou as the likes of Rafinha Alcantara, Gerard Deuleofou and Ter Stegen have been signed already. The likes of Puyol, Valdes andPinto have confirmed their departure while speculation is riff over the futures of Dani Alves, Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez and Pedro Rodriguez.
Host of top quality players have been linked with a move to FC Barcelona this summer but not all suitable to the needs of Blaugrana e.g. Koke. THT lists down three players Barca management must sign this summer to regain the glory day of 2009-10 again.
1. Marquinhos:- Defence is the area of biggest concern for Blaugrana at the moment. The young Brazilian is widely considered as one of the best emerging talents and reportedly, Paris Saint Germain are ready to sell him in swap deal consisting of Dani Alves. The 20 year old Brazilian moved to Parc de Princess last summer for record fee of 30 million euros and lived upto his high expectations. Now, since PSG are ready to off load him, Barca management must take immediate steps to acquire him. At 20, the player will prove to be a long term investment. And considering his huge potential, it is highly unlikely that any investment on him will get wasted.
2. Aaron Ramsey:- Ramsey was arguably the best player of Arsenal last season, whenever he was on the field. Ramsey has all the skills to be become the able deputy of Xavi in the longer term. With Thiago Alcantara already gone and Fabregas on verge of going back to EPL, Barca must seriously consider signing top quality midfielder now. Ramsey was a key player for Arsenal in theAi??2013ai??i??14 seasonAi??campaign, scoring 16 goals in all competitions. However, if recent reports have anything to go by, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not ready to sell his star midfielder.
3. Kun Aguero:- Pedro Rodriguez and Alexis Sanchez, both are on their way out of Camp Nou this summer. Manchester City striker Kun Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world and along with Messi and Neymar, he will form the most destructive attack in Europe. FC Barcelona will have to offer huge money to lure him away though. Manchester City management is reluctant to sell their star man but the player himself seems to be ready to play for Barcelona as his father claimed last week that his son wants to play alongside Lionel Messi.
If everything goes according to the plans and Barcelona management succeeds in signing all three aforementioned players, it will be a giant step towards securing a trophy laden season ahead.
