French Ligue 1 Champions, UEFA Champions League quarter finalists, PSG are planning to launch PSG Football Academy in India to enhance their reputation in Asia.
PSG Football academy in India will be based in the NCR region, New Delhi. Paris Saint Germains are home to some of the leading world footballers in the form of Zwedish Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Brazil Captain Thiago Silva. Ai??French Ligue 1 falls behind leading leagues like English Premier League and Spanish La Liga by some margin, and PSG’s entry into Indian Football market is a step to close the gap. PSG boasts of a star studded line-up and by the conclusion of 2014 FIFA World Cup, their reach is expected to expand further thanks to their top players who are participating in the marquee event.
Indian Football market has become a target of European clubs due to its massive population and huge potential. AIFF is also planning big by hosting FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 followed by Club World Cup and other events. Premier League side Liverpool has recently entered the Indian Football market with their academy and the entry of PSG will be a further boost to the Football aspirants in the subcontinent.
PSG has similar setup’s in Brazil, Qatar, Morocco and Indonesia.
