FC Barcelona right back Dani Alves has put serious doubts over his future at Camp Nou by claiming that he could leave if there is no change in the ai???energyai??? at the club.
The 31 year old Brazilian has long been the transfer target of French side Paris Saint Germain. Alves claimed in his interview that he feels let down by the fans of the club who criticized the club after getting out of Champions League early and some dismal performances in La Liga. AlvesAi??has only one year left on his contract at the Catalan giants and rumours have been circulating that he may be on his way out of theAi??NouAi??Camp.
The right back has been the core member of this very successful Barca side since his transfer from Sevilla in 2008. Alves has won four La Liga, two Champions League and one Club World Cup title with Barcelona till date.
“Itai??i??s very hard to get the chance to play for Barcelona and, whether people like it or not, Iai??i??m part of the history of this club,” he toldAi??Spanish news channel RAC1. “I need energy, itai??i??s what motivates me; Iai??i??m an upbeat, happy person.
“Iai??i??ve always been like that, but because the results arenai??i??t what people expect, they need someone to shoot at and I feel shot at. I really believe in energy, I live off this energy and, if you start to create negative energy, things donai??i??t flow.
“If this energy doesnai??i??t change, Iai??i??ll probably leave because it wears you down. If I’m to stay this summer, there has to be a change of energy.”
Alves knows that current situation of his boss Tata Martino is very complicated one and refused to talk about ongoing rumours linking Barca with Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique.
“As a player I think he was phenomenal and as a coach heai??i??s doing a very good job at Celta, but I think that at this club people are often too hasty. Weai??i??re still fighting for the title. People need to take things a bit more calmly, not rush things so much, because the season hasnai??i??t finished.”
The right back also came to the rescue of his compatriot Neymar when reporter asked about the mammoth fee of the transfer.
“Very strange things happen here. Real Madrid were going to pay ai??i??100 million for Neymar, Barca get him for ai??i??57m and people say itai??i??s an incredible amount. Whatai??i??s incredible is that he came here when ai??i??100m was being offered.”
Alves stressed that winning La Liga is very important for the club and failure in their mission would be a ai???disasterai???.
