David Moyes is ready to move again for Everton star Leighton Baines with a fresh 16 million bid.Ai??
English newspaper Daily Mirror has reported today that the Old Trafford side is ready to bid for Baines again.
The Manchester United coach David Moyes failed to sign his former player in the summerAi??when he made a double bid for Baines and Marouane Fellaini together. But the Scot is now ready to go back with another attempt on his previous club once the January transfer window opens to Ai??get the England left-back to move toAi??Manchester.
29 year old Baines has played for only two clubs in his entire professional career. The Englishman started his career at Wigan Athletic in 2002 where he played for 5 seasons. In 2007, Baines moved to Everton which was the big breakthrough of his professional career as he got selected for the national side in 2009 as well. Baines has made 212 appearances in all competitions for Everton till date and currently the undisputed starter for Roberto Martinezai??i??s side.
David Moyes could have to dig deeper to try to lure Everton as he also feels Baines is not the type of player can insist for a move. And that could leave Moyes searching elsewhere for the left-back he needs.
Moyes expects the Toffees to fight hard once more to keep Baines. Despite the fact he has not signed a new deal promised to him when Everton rebuffed Unitedai??i??s offer last summer, the Liverpool based side is not ready to let him go.
Daily Mirror has also reported that Southamptonai??i??s Luke Shaw is Unitedai??i??s radar as well. However, it is also reported that he could also be the out of reach of David Moyes, at least in January.
Originally a member of Southampton’s youth system, Shaw made his first-team debut for the club in January 2012, and signed his first professional contract in May that year before becoming a regular in the Southampton team. He primarily plays as an attacking-minded left-back.
The 18 year old youngster is widely considered as the successor of Ashley Cole for England and is already attracting interest from big sides including Manchester United.
Along with central midfield, left-back is considered as the weak link of United and Moyes wants to fill the void as soon as possible. Unitedai??i??s current first-choice left-back, Patrice Evra, has started all but one of their 19 Premier League games this season, with Alexander Buttner and Fabio not measured options of satisfactory quality.
Evra, 32, who will be out of contract at the end of this season, has already spoken with Moyes of the need for United to recruit a new left-back in the January window, but the options look limited if Baines and Shaw are unfeasible.
Different left-back options for Moyes consist of Brazilian duo Alex Sandro, of FC Porto, and Atletico Madridai??i??s Filipe Luis.
