122. Dempo Release Anthony Pereira, Valeriano Rebello and Cliffton Gonsalves
The exodus of players from Dempo continues as the club prepares for a fresh start under Arthur Papas. Indian international Anthony Pereira who was a vital cog in the Armando Colcao side has been released following a below par season. Defender and versatile player Valeriano Rebello too has been released as Dempo look to induct fresh blood. Both Pereira and Rebello were on the wrong side of their 30’s. Also released has been striker Cliffton Gonsalves. The former India U-19 striker failed to impress the management last season and has been released. Sources from Goa have confirmed this move by the Goan giants.

Pailan Arrows are facing some uncertainty about their next season with the owners financial turmoil. Baichung Bhutia has offered to help the youngsters by offering a development platform with United Sikkim and he doesn’t want a relegation free status also. But the youngsters futures remains a mystery as of now and most of the players are finding greener pastures for their further development. The latest player to be linked with a move away is right back Pritam Kotal.Ai??Pritam is a target of Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and the club is counting on the youngster to provide cover and competition for Wahid Sali. In a dramatic turn around of events, East Bengal has unveiled Brazilian Marcos Antonio Falopa as their new head coach. He signed on a year long contract and the addition of such a high profile coach will surely boost the clubs confident ahead of the new campaign. Falopa has coached Myanmar’s national team and has more than 35 years experience in various football coaching capacities. Former Assistant coach of Brazilian national team will have the tough tasks of I-League title and AFC Cup win lined up among his prime targets.

India’s brightest star, Alwyn George will be the mercurial addition if clubs are looking to capitalize on Pailan Groups uncertainty.
