With Chelsea FC languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, Roman Abramovich and the Blues’ board could look to make a major statement in the January transfer window

Real Madrid playmaker Isco has reportedly been growing increasingly disillusioned with his lack of playing time under Rafael Ben tez, and could look for a move away from the Spanish capital as early as the current winter transfer window.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC have struggled for goals this season, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Cesc F bregas, Oscar, Pedro and Willian failing to provide the creative impetus in attack and unable to produce the sort of free-flowing football that was on display in the first half of the 2014-2015 season.

As such, the Blues could reportedly turn to Isco in the January transfer window to solve their creative issues and to freshen up their attack. Mexican journalist RaA?l Orva anos, who works for Fox Sports and Record, revealed via his Twitter account that Chelsea FC were ‘very interested’ in the Spain international, and could look to bring the wantaway playmaker to Stamford Bridge in January.

If they do choose to make a move, they will face stiff competition from Manchester City, who have long coveted the 23-year-old. However, given their signings of Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, a big-money move for another attacking midfielder in the winter window would be a surprise.

Chelsea FC move for Isco could spell the end of Oscar and F bregas

Although a transfer in January is extremely unlikely, signing Isco could sound the death knell for Oscar’s Chelsea FC career. The Spaniard would likely be deployed in the No 10 role behind the striker given his creative powers, meaning Oscar would either have to be accommodated elsewhere in the side, or as is more likely, make do with a place on the bench.

However, Isco’s potential signing would also have repercussions on the Blues’ central midfield options. Given the Real Madrid man is not as good as Oscar from a defensive point of view, playing F bregas in the holding midfield role could backfire spectacularly, as it has several times this season already. A more solid defensive option like John Obi Mikel or Ramires would likely be used as a partner for Nemanja Mati .
