Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger is expecting a “ferocious” tie at Anfield against Liverpool FC, while also backing Jurgen Klopp for success.

League leaders Arsenal FC travel to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC, hoping to continue their two game winning run and retain their place at the top of the table.

.

Wenger expecting ferocious tie

With Liverpool FC under new boss Jurgen Klopp, who is renowned for playing pressing football, most teams expect the Reds to get at them. However, when asked about his take on the Reds under Klopp, Wenger said that he always expects a ferocious tie at Anfield, with previous Liverpool FC managers also deploying similar styles.

Wenger was quoted as saying by Arsenal’s official website:

a Every time we go to Anfield, we face a team who is up for it. Itai??i??s always a ferocious battle, no matter who the manager is.

a They had a very strong manager before, they have a very strong one now and Klopp has the personality to do well there.

a [We need to] play our game at a good pace. We are used to pressing.”

Wenger on Klopp's style: "We are used to that pressing. It is part of the modern game." Watch LIVE: https://t.co/fh4FyeG5tv

Arsene Wenger confident ahead of Anfield tie

With the Gunners at the top of the table, confidence is high at the Emirates. Arsenal have lost just one game in the last 10 outings, and the Gunners’ boss feels that the confidence generated from the run is vital.

a The momentum creates confidence and confidence is vital at that level,a Wenger said. a In December and now in January we have been consistent and we go into a very important part of the season because we play many games.

a That consistency is a good basis to go into the next game with the right belief.a

Liverpool FC will hope that they can overcome the surge in confidence that the Gunners have had with their recent run, and dent their hopes of a first title in 12 years.
