Bayern Munich youngster Kingsley Coman has opened up about his time at Paris Saint-Germain and his experiences with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in particular, saying that the Swede doesn’t care much for other players.
Kingsley Coman was a product of PSG’s youth academy and is the youngest player ever to play for the team. But despite that, the club allowed his contract to expire which saw him make a move to Italian side Juventus on a 5-year contract. Coman is currently on loan at German club Bayern Munich, where he has scored 4 goals so far and has taken advantage of injuries to key players to impress the fans and pundits.
Coman recently opened up about his experiences at PSG to German publication Kicker, saying: “There were a lot of different clans in the team. It was not easy to integrate and become part of the team. I never felt well with the first team.”
Selfish Zlatan?
The 19-year old Frenchman singled out Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in particular for not fulfilling his role as mentor and senior player for the young footballers at PSG.
.
“My relationship with Ibrahimovic was completely neutral,” he said.
“He is not the type of player to approach the younger players and give them advice…he only cares about himself.”
Mere mortals can’t question Zlatan
Ibrahimovic is well known for his massive ego and is allowed to flaunt it wherever he goes, probably because he is a prolific striker and scores the kind of goals that other players can only dream of. His most recent heroics came when he helped Sweden qualify for Euro 2016, hitting 3 goals in a 4-3 aggregate win over bitter rivals Denmark in the playoffs.
The 34-year-old remains an essential cog in the PSG wheel, even at this age.
