Liverpool FC moved to 8th position after digging out a hard-fought 1-0 victory against league leaders Leicester City on Boxing day after striking goal and a terrible miss by Christian Benteke.
Christian Benteke was on the mark for the home side, as he scored his first goal in eight premier league games with a typical striker’s finish. However, the Belgian missed an absolute sitter of a chance in the final stages of the game, that could fizzle out the joy of the win for him.
Liverpool FC are the first team who have managed to keep a clean sheet against the Foxes this season, and Jurgen Klopp’s men can take plenty of confidence from this victory. Leicester City, for once struggled to make an impact as Liverpool ended a run of four games without a win.
The highlights of the match involved Liverpool’s no.9 Christian Benteke, who scored the only goal of the game, but also missed an open goal at the death.

This is probably the worst miss of the season so far, one that the striker would want to forget!
