With the international break about to end, we look at five goals scored during the week that will take your breath away.

1. Robert Lewandowski ( Poland vs Republic of Ireland)

The Bayern Munich forward is on fire this season and his goal against the Irish robbed them of a playoff place and took the Poles to the Euro 2016.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has been in sensational form this season, and has already notched up 12 goals for the Bavarian giants, including a 5-goal haul from the substitute bench against Wolfsburg that broke all sorts of records in the Bundesliga and was also the fastest 5-goal haul in Europe.

His goal against the Irish, a wonderfully taken diving header, can be seen in the video below.

2. Didier Drogba ( Colorado Rapids vs Montreal Impact)

Drogba swapped Chelsea FC for Montreal Impact in the summer following the expiry of his contract. The striker left Stamford Bridge with his legendary status intact, having scored some wonderful goals during his stint.

One of his famous attributes is his ability to score goals from a distance in a dead ball situation. Drogba was at it again, this time for Montreal as he struck a beautiful free-kick from 30 yards, in the back of the net, to put he Canadian side 1-0 up.

Still got it, big Didier.

3. Jaba Kankava ( Germany vs Georgia)

Jaba Kankava is owed credit for saving the life of Dynamo Kiev captain Oleg Gusev while playing for Dnipro. The midfielder stuck his hand down the throat of the Kiev captain to clear his airway following the latter being unable to breath after swallowing his tongue.

So the goal below is not exactly the greatest achievement of the man currently plying his trade in France Ligue One with Reims.

The midfielder scored a cracking volley from his left foot to draw his country, Georgia, level against world champions Germany.

Unfortunately, the goal, in the end, was not enough to earn the Georgians a point, with the Germans coming back through Max Kruse and winning the tie 2-1.

4. Wesley Sneijder ( Kazakstan vs Holland)

Sneijder has been one of the best midfielders in Europe during his peak and Holland one of the most exciting sides with the midfield maestro in full flow.

The Dutch’s glory days seem to have deserted them for now, with the side failing to qualify for the Euro 2016 in France, however, they showed their class with a wonderful, flowing move that is synonymous with the football they have brought to the attention of the world.

Sneijder, now plying his trade in Turkey after stints at Real Madrid and Inter Milan, showed his class by applying the finishing touch to earn Holland a win in their final game of their ill-fated UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

5. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden vs Moldova)

Sweden missed out on the 2014 World Cup when they lost to Portugal in the playoffs, denying the world a chance to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the world’s biggest tournament for one last time.

The fate is set to repeat itself as Sweden’s 2-0 win over Moldova failed to secure an automatic spot for the Scandinavian side, who will have to once again win the playoff for the world to see Ibrahimovic in action for his national side in a major tournament, one last time.

The maverick Swede though, typically stole the show with a neatly taken goal after he was sent through from a clearance. Rounding the goalkeeper, he calmly tucked the ball in the back of the net.

Come on Sweden, don’t deny us the chance to see Zlatan in the Euro one last time.
