Manchester United signed Anthony Martial in a A?36m deal that could rise to A?58m as per BBC . . The player, who signed from Monaco has been dubbed as the ‘new Henry’. The man himself gave his say on the French international.
Martial’s move to Manchester United came as a surprise to one and all, not just because he was not a known quantity outside France, but also because of the transfer fee involved.
The 19 year old former Lyon and Monaco man had made 42 appearances for Monaco, scoring 11 goals. He was the only under 20 player in the top 5 leagues in Europe to score 9 or more goals. However, the player is, still, largely unproven.
But he has been touted as the next Thierry Henry given his pace, physical stature and the Monaco links. The former Arsenal forward gave his take on his fellow Frenchman, stating that Manchester United have taken a massive gamble by signing a talented, yet unproven player for the money in which they could have landed a proven one.
