On Monday Night Football, Thierry Henry gave us a glimpse into what kind of thinking Spanish manager Pep Guardiola inculcates in his players and it is quite similar to what Van Gaal is doing at Manchester United, except for the end results.
Henry says that the Spaniard focused on 3 P’s — players, possession and positioning — and he focused on positioning the most. ‘Maintain your position and trust your teammate’ was the motto at Barcelona in Thierry Henry’s days there.
