Fans and pundits alike have been divided over the debate of the current best footballer in the world. However, in a new video released by BT Sport, this debate seems to have been put to rest.
Current and former footballers chose their sides in the football’s biggest debate, and there’s only one winner, but just marginally.
Robin van Persie, Michael Owen, Rio Ferdinand, James Richardson, Joe Hart, Steven Gerrard, David Luiz and a couple of others picked Lionel Messi as the world’s best player. Messi beat Cristiano Ronaldo by three votes, with the Argentine getting six votes, while the Portuguese only managed 3 for himself.
