Goals scored by Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, and United States International Carli Lloyd in the Women’s World Cup final are among the 10 goals nominated for the 2015 FIFA Puskas award.
FIFA announced the 10-goal shortlsit for the 2015 FIFA Puskas award on Friday, and among the goalscorers are some familiar faces. Lionel Messi received a nomination for his brilliant solo effort in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao, while AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes deservedly made the list for an incredible volley from outside the box in a friendly match against Inter Milan.

The regulations for the award state that the nominations are made without any regard for the nationality and gender of the goalscorer, or indeed the Championship in which the goal was scored. As such, there are also nominations for World Cup winner Carli Llyod, who scored a stunning goal in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup final against Japan from behind the half-way line.
Among the lesser-known nominees are Esteban Ramirez (Herediano) and David Ball (Fleetwood Town) who scored in the Costa Rican first division and the English third division respectively.
