As reported by the Independent, the FA have launched an investigation into a complaint that was made against Jose Mourinho for allegedly verbally abusing Eva Carneiro. If the manager is found guilty of the said offence, then he could face up to a 5 game touchline ban.
The incident in question took place on the opening day of the Premier League season as Jose Mourinho lost his cool after Eva Carneiro and Jon Fearn ran on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in the dying minutes of the game.
Carneiro has not returned to work since the incident as she was consequently removed from front line duties following her row with Mourinho . The physio has since then been reportedly taking legal advice over the incident.
Jose Mourinho can be heard saying a Filha da puta!a (a Portuguese insult meaning a daughter of a whorea ) in the clip below.
If found guilty, he will be in breach of FA rule E3, that states:
Players and coaches can be penalised for using a offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gesturesa . With an aggravated breach, in this case potentially with reference to gender, a five-match ban is the minimum punishment.
