Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers was sacked last night by owners Fenway Sports Group, after a disappointing start to the new season. Former Red Jamie Carragher has lambasted their decision-making on hearing the news, slamming the owners for not sacking Rodgers in the summer and then taking the call just seven games in the Premier League table.
Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers was sacked last night, much to the surprise of former Reds Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher.
Souness, who has been a vocal critic of Rodgers, stated that he found it “amazing” Rodgers was sacked so early.
Carragher, however, was less reserved and slammed the owners decision making throughout their time at Anfield, including decisions to hire director of football, Kenny Dalglish decision, then the transfer committee structure followed by allowing Rodgers to stay in the summer and giving him 80m GBP to spend and then sacking him with just 7 games in the new season.
