James Rodriguez marked his return to Santiago Bernabeu with two stunning goals, one a free-kick from an acute angle and the other an overhead kick to help Real Madrid win 5-0 in their first home game under Rafael Benitez.
James also set up Bale for the opening goal in the first 5 minutes. Despite playing for only 55 minutes owing to lack of fitness following summer duty for Colombia in the Copa America, James was the standout player as Real destroyed newly-promoted Real Betis. Bale scored a brace while Benzema also chipped in with a goal.
