Serie A leaders Inter Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Lazio on Sunday, with Brazilian Felipe Melo getting himself sent off in the dying stages of the match for an outrageous challenge on Lucas Biglia
.
With Inter Milan trailing 2-1 to Lazio in the 90th minute, Melo was deservedly shown a straight red for a karate chop on Lucas Biglia, with the Inter midfielder’s leg actually making contact with the side of the Argentine’s head.
Even though Melo showed remorse for the tackle as well as genuine concern about the well-being of his victim, the damage had already been done. It was a shambolic performance from the Brazilian, who is known for his occasional lapses in judgement, and Roberto Mancini was understandably far from pleased with this latest one.
