Former Arsenal FC striker Ian Wright has blasted the Gunners for dithering in their pursuit of Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
The former English international also highlighted the Gunners need for a top quality striker before the transfer window closes in a couple of days time. Wright was seen sharing his views alongside former Manchester United striker Andy Cole on BT Sport yesterday.
The Gunners barely managed to beat Newcastle United at St. James Park courtesy of an own goal from Fabricio Coloccini. Arsenal FC have scored only three goals in the Premier League after four games, two out of which have been own goals and last night’s insipid display further highlighted the need for a world class striker if the North London outfit are to challenge for top honours this season.
Arsenal FC have currently Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott as the two strikers in their ranks, however, Wright feels that if his former club do sign a striker it’s not a panic buy, a-la Danny Welbeck.
