Former Arsenal FC vice-chairman and Arsene Wenger’s close friend David Dein has shared his thoughts on the Frenchman following the closure of the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger has had to face the ire of Arsenal FC fans following the club’s failure to recruit a single outfield player in the summer transfer window.
David Dein worked with Arsene Wenger during his initial, more-successful years with the club and believes that it’s the same success which has come back to haunt the Frenchman during his lean periods.
Dein also hailed Arsene Wenger’s ‘remarkable’ achievement of having qualified for the Champions League for 18 successive seasons. When asked if he would be encouraging the Frenchman to spend more money in the transfer window, he said, “He knows what he’s got to do and I am sure he’s going to try to do it.”
