FC Barcelona created history on Sunday night, as both Lionel Messi and Neymar came back into the starting XI to beat Argentina’s River Plate 3-0 in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Messi and Neymar had missed their semi final match against Guangzhou Evergrande, but striker Luis Suarez shone through the match, carrying his team to the final. The Uruguayan striker was in form again, netting twice in the 3-0 win over the Argentine side.

It was Argentine star Messi however, who opened the scoring against his compatriots in the first half, to ease up FC Barcelona’s nerves. From then on, it was more or less a one-team show. Although River Plate had their moments, FC Barcelona proved to be too strong for them in the end.
