FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi won the UEFA Best Player in Europe award last night, beating off competition from arch-rival and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and teammate Luis Suarez. As Messi won the award, the reaction of Cristiano was an interesting one.
Messi had a wonderful season in 2014/15 as Barcelona completed a clean sweep of the Spanish League, League Cup and the European Cup.
The Argentine maestro’s performances were recognized by UEFA last night as they bestowed upon him the award for best player in Europe.
As UEFA President Michelle Platini unveiled Messi’s name for the award and handed him the trophy, Ronaldo gave an interesting reaction, almost trying too hard to clap. The Portuguese superstar also appeared to be a bit bored by Messi’s winning speech.
