England faced Spain in an international friendly in Alicante on Friday to gauge their opponents ahead of their UEFA Euro 2016 campaign in France, but fell to a 2-0 defeat after conceding two superb goals.
England, thanks to their 15-match unbeaten streak, went into the friendly on Friday in confident mood, but reigning European Champions Spain dispatched Roy Hodgson’s side comfortably in the end.
The friendly was supposed to be an indicator of how the Three Lions stacked up against one of Europe’s best, but with the way the Spanish armada tore apart the English defence, it appears Hodgson has some major work ahead of him. England seemed to have lost their belief after Mario Gaspara s incredible scissor-kick opener, as the English defence was ripped apart by the Spanish players with their quick and incisive passing.

Arsenal FC midfielder Santi Cazorla made no mistake to finish the move with a beautiful left-footed curler from outside the box.
