All eyes were on Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea FC prepared for their post-Mourinho era, with the first match without the Portuguese manager being against Sunderland.
Hovering just a couple of places above the relegation zone, Chelsea FC’s match against Sunderland was billed as a relegation six-pointer, as the club from the North East was also in the red zone.
It did not take long for the defending champions to get back into their groove, as fullback Branislav Ivanovic nodded in a corner from Willian on the fifth minute.
Chelsea FC looked to be back on top form, as they completely dominated the first half, raising questions on whether the players had not been performing because of the presence of Mourinho in the dressing room.
