Barcelona’s new a 40 million signing, Turkish captain Arda Turan, at a ceremony back in his hometown, Bayrampasa, Istanbul refused to sign a Lionel Messi Barcelona jersey.
Arda Turan, signed for Barcelona . from rivals Atletico Madrid, last week in a deal believed to be around a 40 million, however, he may still be shipped back to Atletico, if new Barcelona president, set to be elected on 19th of July, doesn’t approve of the signing of the 28-year-old. The former Atletico winger is ineligible to play for his new club in this calendar year, due to the transfer ban imposed on the Catalan giants.
Turan’s transfer from Atletico to FC Barcelona, was covered extensively in his homeland, and his outstanding social contributions, in his hometown have not gone unnoticed. A tribute ceremony was organized to recognize the 28-year-old’s contribution, while a street has also been named after him.
However, things took an unlikely turn, when Turan refused to sign a Barcelona shirt presented to him, with the diminutive Argentine’s name on it’s back.
