Arsenal FC striker Theo Walcott, who is afraid of height and is not the most keen flier, quizzed his tour guide, whether one could actually fall from the edge of the iconic infinity pool of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, which gives the breathtaking illusion of being an open waterfall.
Arsenal FC are currently in Singapore for their pre-season tour, participating in the Barclays Asia trophy, and are staying at the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel. During a tour of the hotel, Walcott could not help but ask the guide, about the iconic infinity pool, and whether the pool had a ledge. The pool indeed has a ledge at the end, and is completely safe.
Arsenal FC yesterday played against the Singapore Select XI, beating them 4-0, with 19-year-old striker Chuba Akpom hitting a hat-trick. The Gunners will now play Everton, in the finals of the trophy on Sunday. Everton beat Stoke City, 5-4 on penalties, after a 0-0 draw, to book a berth in the finals.

Walcott opened the scoring in Arsenal FC’s 4-0 rout of Aston Villa in the FA Cup finals in May, and has been linked with a move away from the Emirates, with just a year left in his contract. Liverpool FC and Manchester City were interested in the English international’s services, however, it is now believed that the 26-year-old will be extending his contract with the Gunners for a further three years. The main stumbling block in the negotiations, have been where and how much does Wenger see the speedster featuring in his plans.
“And about the Pool, you have a ledge, yeah?” said Walcott.
