On the back of England’s Ashes win over Australia, some Arsenal FC players were seen trying their hands at cricket. While the English duo of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain performed well, the same cannot be said about goalkeeper David Ospina.
Arsenal FC have released a new video in which some of it’s players are shown playing cricket. While not everyone can be as gifted as the Compton brothers – Denis and Leslie, who played for Arsenal FC and also represented the English cricket team internationally, Theo Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain did come good with their batting and bowling.
The English duo are seen hitting some expansive strokes including cover drives, leg glances and the hoick over the bowler’s head. Walcott managed to bowl decently, while Chamberlain hits one out of the park. However, the highlight of the video comes when David Ospina, the Colombian goalkeeper, tried his hand at bowling.
Colombia are not famous for their cricketing brilliance and this was evident when Ospina tried to bowl. Full marks to the shot-stopper for trying, though, and for having us in splits.
