Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger was mobbed by fans in his car, following The Gunners emphatic six goals win over Olympique Lyon on Saturday.
Arsenal FC beat Wolfsburg courtesy of a Theo Walcott goal in their second game of the Emirates Cup a day later to claim the Emirates Cup for the first time in five years. The North London club ran-riot a day before as they put 6 past a helpless Olympique Lyon in their first match at home in the pre-season.
However, when manager Arsene Wenger drove away from the Emirates Stadium on the Hornsey Road after the game, he would not have imagined what transpired next.
A group of fans, spotted his car, waiting in the traffic, and within a matter of seconds his car was mobbed by the elated fans. The Arsenal manager, for the gentleman that he is, duly obliged as the rolled down his window to sign autographs for fans . . However, it was not just replica shirts that he was presented to sign, among the fans was one who shoved a Nike football shoe inside the window of the 63-year-old’s Mercedes to be autographed. Wenger, still obliged and signed the boot, before rushing off, as the traffic ahead of him had cleared.
An Arsene Wenger signed Nike shoe, for a souvenir? Not bad!
