Twitter Reactions To Leicester City Striker Jamie Vardy Breaking Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Record Against Manchester United

Manchester United might have the Theater of Dreams, but it is Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, who seems to be made up of the sutff of dreams right now.

He broke Manchester United legend Ruud va Nistelrooy’s record 10 goals in as many consecutive matches by doing it one better than the Dutchman. To put the icing on the cake, he did it against the Dutchman’s old club Manchester United.

Van Nistelrooy himself congratulated Vardy on his Instagram account.

Well done @vardy7! You’re number one now and you deserved it. #11inarow.

Well, the cake might have had icing, but Leicester City could not get the cherry on the top, as United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger equalised for the Red Devils later on, to level the scores at 1-1, and let Manchester City take the lead at the top of the Premier League table once again.

Twitter was set abuzz after Vardy, who just three years back was playing non-league football at Fleetwood Town, has now gone on to break a Premier League record. Here are some of the best tweets.

Jamie Vardy is objectively better than Ruud Van Nistelrooy at something goal scoring-related. Let that sink in.

5 years ago Vardy was doing lines before busting some shapes to S Club 7 in his local Popworld. Look at him now, Incredible story.

Proof EA make up stats for lower league teams. Vardy has always been quick but they gave him 75 pace in FIFA 14 pic.twitter.com/8aEF6ETARH

if the rumours are true and “jamie vardy is having a party” i might show up at that party with a couple of machine guns

a Dan (@EliteFourDan) November 28, 2015

@Kevin_Maguire He hasn’t made history. Football was played for over 100 years before Premier League. The real record is 12. Jimmy Dunne.
