Twitter Explodes Following Arsene Wenger Hinting On 2017 Retirement

In an announcement that completely split the Arsenal fans into two sets of opinions, Arsene Wenger indicated that his time in North London might be coming to an end, sooner than we all expected.

The Frenchman answered questions from fans and shareholders at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the club and hinted at his possible retirement on Thursday.

Wengera s current contract keeps him at the club till the end of the 2016/17 season, which means the ongoing season could be his second last. Faced with a tirade of questions about Arsenala s failure to win many trophies in the last decade or so, Wenger said:

a I am resolute to commit absolutely until the last day of my contract to bring back big success to this club, and leave as well one day in a position where it can do even better when I leave.

a The responsibility on my shoulders is much bigger. I know what it means for people. I know how sad people are when we dona t do well, I know how sad people are when we lose a game,a he continued.

If Wenger does part ways with Arsenal in 2017, he would have spent more than two decades at the club. Wenger currently earns around A?8 million per year from his current contract with Arsenal.

This announcement by the Frenchman pushed the Arsenal fans into a frenzy on twitter, with many of them voicing their highly polarized opinion.

Here are some tweets in support of Wenger.
