Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City: Aguero Is Getting Better And Better, Says Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini lauded Sergio Agueroa s abilities after the Argentine scored the winner in Manchester Citya s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City have all but sealed Champions League qualification after beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the White Hart Lane. The only goal of the game was scored by Sergio Aguero who has now taken his tally to 28 goals in all competitions. The goal means that the striker is now leading the top-scorers chart in the Premier League with 22 goals, 2 more than Tottenhama s Harry Kane.

Citya s manager, Manuel Pellegrini, was full of praise for the forward and said that being only 26-year old, Aguero will only get better.

a Sergio is a very important player for us and hea s in a good moment, free of injury and able to play a number of games in succession without the set-back of injury,a Pellegrini said.

a He is only 26-years old and he will continue to improve and I think hea s getting better and better.a

Pellegrini was satisfied with his teama s performance and was happy with the victory. However, the Chilean felt that they should have got more from the game as he believes Aguero deserved a penalty.

a Ia m very happy with the way my team played today because Tottenham are a very good side and we shouldna t forget that they scored five times against Chelsea earlier in the season,a he said.

a Ita s not an easy place to come because they have good players and a manager who always tries to play attacking football and I thought this was an entertaining game to watch.

a Tottenham played very well in the first five minutes and after that it was a very close and level game, but I thought we should have had a penalty and I cana t understand why that wasna t given.a

With only three more games left in the league, the Manchester City manager remains focused and has one eye on next season. The manager insists that the team is determined to end this season strongly and challenge for the title next season.

a We will challenge again for the title next season and we will improve. This is a very hard league to win and we lost too many important points this year – but we must continue to play the same style and though we havena t scored as many goals as last season, we are still the top scorers so we will not change our mentality but there are many things we must improve on,a he said.

a Now we are only thinking about Queena s Park Rangers and finishing this season as strongly as we can.a
