Thierry Henry believes it is only a matter of time before his former manager Pep Guardiola is seen on the touchline in the Premier League, insisting that the English league would suit him perfectly.
Henry, who played and won the Champions League under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, has admitted that it is not long before we see the 44-year old in the Premier league. The Frenchman rates Guardiola as one of his best coaches, and expects him to manage an English club soon.
On arriving in the Premier league
.
“I think eventually he will come,” Henry told Sky Sports News.(h/t Express) “He’s a competitor, he will want to win a title in every league possible.
Guardiola’s love for football is second to none
Henry believes Guardiola’s love for the game sets him apart as a manager.
“It will suit him, being here in the Premier League. He’s a great guy, [and he has a] great view of the game. He’s one or two steps ahead, he’s in control of everything, the way he loves the game is second to none.
“He is one of the best managers I’ve ever had. One thing that strikes me with him that you don’t see, he’s one of those guys who’s very demanding and [the] discipline that he has is on point. You need that amount of discipline to perform on and off the field.”
Guardiola will not depart before winning the champions league
As stated by Henry, Guardiola is a competitor. He is an ambitious manager who wants to win the biggest trophies. Having won back to back Bundesliga titles, the Spaniard will now have his eyes on the Champions league, a competition he won twice with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011. Bayern Munich are sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga table, seven points clear of Dortmund. Bayern have shown tremendous form so far, with the goalscoring prowess of Robert Lewandowski helping the capital outfit to knock teams off with ease. However, although Bayern are favourites to win the Bundesliga again, Guardiola will not be content without winning the Champions league.
