Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has labelled Hector Morenoa s bone-shattering tackle on Luke Shaw as brilliant while saying that he was surprised to not see more such injuries in football.

Known for being aggressive on the pitch, Keane claimed that Manchester United were all over the place in terms of defence, against PSV Eindhoven and opined that the team was in a desperate need of a centre-half.

.

I thought it was a brilliant challenge

As reported by the Daily Mail, the former Manchester United captain defended Morenoa s tackle by claiming that it was an a accidenta after adding that he a loveda the physical side of the game.

a I thought it was a brilliant challenge.

a I love the physical side of the game. You can always tell by player reactions and none of the United lads at the time, and players are best judges because they are nearest the tackle, didn’t react over the top thinking it was a bad challenge, obviously at the end of it.a

I’m surprised there are not more like it

Talking about the nature of the game, Roy Keane said that injuries are a part of the profession due to the speed at which players travel during a game. The Irishman also claimed that he was surprised to not see more injuries like the one suffered by Luke Shaw on Tuesday.

a And when players are travelling that speed, defending like that, injuries are going to happen. I’m surprised there are not more like it. It was more of an accident at the end of with his trailing foot.a

a I thought it was a brilliant challenge. I love the physical side of the game."
