Manchester United legend Roy Keane has lashed out at the ‘selfie’ culture among the Arsenal FC players and believes that the Gunners will not be able to lift the Premier League till the players focus completely on football
The 43-year-old enjoyed 12 successful years at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson and captained his side to many titles. The Irishman, known for his aggressive demeanour, has been involved in many altercations with the Gunners while playing for the Red Devils. Keane has however, reignited his feud with the North London club after complaining about the Arsenal FC players’ interest in ‘selfies’.

“Arsenal have some really good players – some good characters who roll their sleeves up,” Keane said while speaking in a recent interview, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“But they also have one or two players who are more interested in selfies and six-packs, guys who are trying to get their pictures taken every day of the week.
“Listen, every year we hear the same thing about Arsenal being contenders. Instead of focusing on the Premier League, it’s all about how their bodies look, how their hair is, more so than winning football matches.”

The 43-year-old believes that last year’s Premier League champions Chelsea FC are still the team to beat and if they can maintain a certain level of desire, they are favorites to win the league again.
“For me, Chelsea remain the team to beat. Their team is the one with the strongest spine – John Terry, their goalkeeper, Eden Hazard – and if they can add John Stones to their team then they will be even harder to beat.
“The bottom line is that if Chelsea’s players show the same hunger and desire that they did last year then they’ll win the league. They will only be in trouble if they are complacent.”

The Gunners lifted the FA Community Shield for the second consecutive year last night, after beating Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea FC 1-0. The Arsenal FC players have been known to regularly engage with fans on social media and have a habit of posting selfies regularly on social media platforms. However, as long as the Gunners build on their recent performances and keep winning trophies, Arsene Wenger would not be worried about selfies and six-packs.
