Ronaldinho says Guardiola will be successful anywhere in the world, tips current FC Barcelona team to make history

FC Barcelona legend Ronaldinho claims that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola could be successful at any club in the world, with the Spaniard set to leave the Bavarian giants at the end of the season

It was Pep Guardiola’s arrival on the scene in 2008-09 that sounded the death knell for Ronaldinho’s time at FC Barcelona, but the Brazilian legend remains on very good terms with the Bayern Munich boss.

Ronaldinho spoke to Omnisport (via Goal UK) recently, saying that Guardiola could coach any team in the world. The former Ballon d’Or winner also said it is not possible to compare the attacking trident of himself, Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi to the current front three at the club, but tipped the Catalan side to make history again.

“Pep is a great coach who could manage any team in the world,” said Ronaldinho. “He is a good friend and he could coach any team in the world.”

On comparisons between the old FC Barcelona side with this one, the Brazilian added: “Times have changed and you cannot really compare the two tridents. Everyone was very good during my time and they are great now.

“You cannot compare the two. Both attacking tridents made history in their own era.

“My Barcelona was a great team and so is the current Barcelona. Barca is going through another great period with an amazing team with great players. This team is destined to make history again.”

Current FC Barcelona side on a different level .

As good as Ronaldinho was at his peak, the current FC Barcelona side is a level above the team that the Brazilian played in. Lionel Messi is a much better all-round footballer and has achieved everything there is to achieve in the world of football more than once. Neymar is beginning to show why he can genuinely take over from the Argentine one day, while Luis SuA?rez is arguably the best striker on the planet at the moment.

There is a very real chance that Barcelona could be the first team to retain the UEFA Champions League trophy, given just how strong Luis Enrique’s side is. Although the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are likely to provide resistance, it is difficult to see a defence being able to stop Messi, SuA?rez and Neymar, who might just be the most lethal attacking trident the football world has ever seen.
