Real Madrid will most likely be without the services of club captain Sergio Ramos for their Wednesday evening clash against 14th place Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.
.
Sergio Ramos has suffered from niggling injuries all throughout the season and is further expected to miss out on playing against the Basque based club. French International Raphael Varane, who himself recently came back from a month long injury lay off, is expected to slot in at centre back in place of Ramos on Wednesday.
There is some good news for Benitez on the injury front though, as right back Dani Carvajal made his return to training on Tuesday. Carvajal had been missing in action since suffering an injury during Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Eibar last month.
“They are all nearly recovered,” said Benitez (as quoted by the club’s official website). “We are close to getting them all back and that is positive because competition among them is good for everyone.
“We all have to put more effort in, and I will be first to do so, assessments can be made at the end.”
Real Madrid currently lie at 3rd position in the La Liga table on 33 points — 2 points behind joint league leaders FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
