Real Madrid Motivated For The Derby After Humiliating Loss, Claims Ancelotti As Ronaldo and Co Clear Eibar Hurdle

Speaking after Real Madrida s 3-0 win over Eibar, manager Carlo Ancelotti said that his team was prepared and motivated for the upcoming Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid having lost the previous derby in an embarrassing manner. Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who opened the scoring for Real Madrid, Ancelottia s men put forward a convincing display against Eibar as they eased into a 3-0 win.

a It’s (4-0 loss at Vicente Calderon) a motivation, though it will be a difficult match. We are motivated and will give our all.”

The manager praised Cristiano Ronaldo who managed to score from a free-kick and explained why he refused to rest the Portuguese international ahead of the Champions League fixture.

“It’s not easy to score free kicks. Cristiano amazes me because he always wants to play and to score. He makes the difference along with other forwards. He’s enjoying himself because the team is playing with more speed and that frees him up in front of goal.”

“I didn’t find it necessary (to rest him) because he recovered well from Wednesday’s game. I chose to rest other players who seemed tired like Ramos, Marcelo, and Modric.”

In the absence of the regular starters, Jese and Chicharito performed well, with both the players scoring a goal each.

“Those who featured today did well. Chicharito and Jese both scored. We put forth a big effort but everything turned out well.”

“He (Chicharito) did very well and worked very hard. He scored a goal and could’ve scored another. As for his future, Manchester United still owns him so we’ll have to wait until the season’s over.”
