Real Madrid are going to face the challenge of in-form Sevilla tonight. The form of Cristiano Ronaldo is a reason of worry for Carlo Ancelotti as the Portuguese has failed to score in previous three matches of Real Madrid. But the Italian tactician has defended his star attacker by claiming that he is happy with the performances of the striker.

The Unai Emrey managed side is in great form at the moment as they remain unbeaten at home in last 34 games. And Real Madrid need to be at their best if they want to overcome the challenge of mighty Sevilla as they are still 2 points behind leaders FC Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo has faced the wrath of Real Madrid fans for his recent showings and he must come back to the scoring ways again as this is going to be a decisive week for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti offered his backing to his striker in his press conference.

“I think if Ronaldo has scored 50 goals is precisely because of its nature,” Carlo Ancelotti said. “He is never happy with what he does, always fighting.

“That is why he scores 50 goals in a season and he has been doing that for such a long time.

“I do not understand why the Santiago Bernabeu whistles Ronaldo.”

The Real Madrid boss refused to discuss the status of injuries to Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

“Are Bale and Benzema fully recovered? We will not take risks. It’s not the last game of the season.

“If a player is available, he will play. They may not be in condition to endure 90 minutes but they are fit.

“However, we will not take risks.”
