A Portuguese daily has confirmed that defender Danilo is almost certain to join Real Madrid.
Brazilian full-back, Danilo, has been heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid. According to earlier reports, the defender is all set to join Real Madrid from Porto and has been stalling to extend his contract at the Portuguese club.
According to fresh reports, a leading Portuguese daily, A Bola, has confirmed that Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign the defender from Porto in the summer. According to the newspaper, a Los Blancosa will cough up a 30 million (A?21 million) for the Brazil international, which includes an initial instalment of a 10 million (A?7 million) a which is a sharp rise to the a 25 million reported earlier.
The Portuguese daily further confirms that Danilo has agreed to sign a five-year contract with the Spanish giants.
The report more or less confirms what was already thought to be a done deal in Spain. Previously, Barcelonaa s sports assessor, Charly Rexach, had assured that Danilo will be at the Santiago Bernabeu next season, while talking to Esport 3.
“I’ve been told that Danilo has been signed by Real but I don’t know for sure. That’s something for him to say”, Rexach said.
Barcelona were also believed to be interest in signing the defender, as Dani Alves is on the brink of leaving the club at the end of the season. However, all reports are pointing suggesting that the Brazil international will don the white kit next season.
Danilo was stretchered off by an ambulance during Portoa s 4-0 victory against Basel in the Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday. However, the fears of a serious injury were brushed aside as Portoa s official twitter account confirmed that there is no serious injury.

The defender seems all set to accomplish a move to Real Madrid this summer and be a part of the Galacticos. However, Daniloa s arrival to the Spanish capital will pose some serious doubts about some of Real Madrida s current lot.
Alvaro Arbeloa, who is now past his prime, will be affected the most by Daniloa s arrival. If Danilo arrives at the Bernabeu, Arbeloa, who now plays as a back-up to first choice to Daniel Carvajal, will move further down the pecking order. Arbeloa is expected to leave the club in the summer, if Danilo does sign for Real Madrid.
Current first-choice right-back, Dani Carvajal, has been in great form and has won over the trust of the management. However, he might get threatened by Daniloa s arrival as it would reduce his game-time for sure. All being said, Danilo will provide a safe option to go to in Carvajala s absence and also allow the Spaniard some rest.
