Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti and Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta have made contradictory statements about the future of Paul Pogba. Ancelotti claimed it earlier that Los Blancos are not interested in the Frenchman but, Marotta was quick to deny these claims by saying that Real Madrid are hot on the pursuit of the midfielder.
Paul Pogba is widely recognized as one of the best youngster of world football and host of top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain, are on the trail of the Juventus midfielder.
Juventus do not want to sale Paul Pogba in the summer. But they could decide to cash in on him if any lucrative offer comes up. Recent reports coming from Spain had claimed that Real Madrid are ready to splash the cash for Paul Pogba. But coach Carlo Ancelotti has poured the cold water on these rumours now.
“I think Pogba is a great player,” Carlo Ancelotti told Sky Italia. “He can play in any team in the world, but not for Real Madrid because he is not a player who interests us.”
But Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta was quick deny the claims of the Real Madrid boss.
Marotta claimed that Ancelotti is telling a a white liea , and that Real Madrid boss has already made a formal enquiry to Juventus about Paul Pogba.
“Ancelotti asked me some questions about Pogba,” the Juventus official said to Sky Italia. “He says he’s not interested? Well, that’s a white lie. I’m sure he has his reasons to say it’s not true.”
Juventus are struggling to meet the wage demands of Paul Pogba. The French international is fully aware about the interest of the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United in him and he is holding out for a pay rise. But Marotta said that Juventus will do everything it can to hold on to Pogba.
“We will do everything within out limits to hold on to Pogba. At the moment, there’s no reason to believe that Pogba will definitely leave Juventus for another team, but we have to bear in mind that we cannot compete with the wages that are being paid elsewhere. We have our limits.”
Real Madrid have struggled for creativity in absence of Luka Modric this season and the club authorities believe that Paul Pogba could be the answer to their difficulties in the central area of the pitch.
