Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has come out in defence of his Real Madrid side after being accused of playing “boring” football by sections of the media.

Th top two sides of La Liga, Real Madrid and Celta Vigo, clash with each other in Vigo’s Bala dos stadium on Saturday. Celta currently occupy second place in the table and are level on points with the current league leaders.

Celta Vigo have taken La Liga by storm through their enterprising display of attacking football and are still unbeaten this season. After having already beaten two league leaders this season, namely Barcelona and Villarreal, Celta will be looking to pick up their third scalp when they take on Real Madrid.

Rafa Benitez slams critics over “boring” accusations

Speaking to the media before his side’s top of the table clash with high flying Celta Vigo, Rafa Benitez came out and launched a scathing attack on his critics after he was labelled as “boring” by some of them.

“My career has a number of records and earned titles, regardless of what you want to say” said the Spaniard. “Real Madrid is a team that can beat any team.”

“For the Madridistas, to see the team perform like so is the biggest joy, and for me too. We are undefeated, on top of the table, and on the right path,” he added.

On his opponents from this weekend, Benitez remarked, “Celta Vigo will give us a tough match. They will give their best – like all teams that face us.”

Asked to comment on the recent match fixing allegations leveled against Real Madrid by a linesman, Benitez said, “it seems to me that ita s nothing serious. When these allegations come from someone with no name, ita s not serious or reliable.”

a The league, the FA and the refereeing committee have to get to the bottom of this and find all the evidence and the arguments,” he added.

Ben tez: “I would not give any mark, ita s the start and we are unbeaten, at the top of the table and on the right path.” #RMCity #RMLiga

Rafa Benitez proving his worth amidst Real Madrid injury crisis

Rafa Benitez had come out and praised his team’s “exceptional” display against PSG in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. The match had ended in a dour 0-0 draw.

Despite missing the services of stellar names such as Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, Pepe and Dani Carvajal for a greater part of the season, Benitez has managed to guide his unbeaten Real Madrid side to the top of La Liga. Even in the Champions League, Real Madrid currently sit at the top of their group ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, Malmo FF and Shakhtar Donetsk.

.

With just 2 goals conceded in 11 games played this season, it may be the right time to give Rafa Benitez the credit that he deserves.

MARCA | Ben tez’s defensive record is the best in Real’s 113-year history. No other coach has ever managed to keep the team so effective.
