Having failed to sign David de Gea from Manchester United, President Florentino Perez spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos. Both the superstars have been linked with a move away from the club over the summer.

Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo were linked with a a big moneya move to Manchester United as David De Gea sought to secure a move back to Spain. However, Florentino Perez dismissed the idea of selling Cristiano Ronaldo as he revealed his asking price for the Portuguese superstar.

With Cristiano Ronaldo being repeatedly linked with a move to PSG and Manchester United over the past one year, Florentino Perez declared that Real Madrid would only part ways with the Portuguese superstar if the interested club met his buyout clause.

As reported by ESPN, Perez claimed that it is easier to conduct transfer negotiations in Spain, as the interested club has to only meet the playera s release clause in order to procure his services.

“Here in Spain everybody has it easy because, unlike in England, a release clause exists. If you want to sign a player you pay his buyout clause and get him.a

Perez made it clear that his asking price for Cristiano Ronaldo would eventually amount to the playera s release clause which is a 1,000m [A?725m]. The President claimed that Ronaldo was Real Madrida s most a emblematica player and that the club was not considering cashing in on him at the moment.

“In the case of Cristiano it’s a 1,000m [A?725m]. If they don’t pay that, they don’t want him. Whenever I’ve wanted a player, I’ve gone for him paying the release clause.

“It’s just impossible. He is our most emblematic player, the best player in the world. It doesn’t enter our mind to sell him.

United asked two or three times for Ramos

As reported by ESPN, Perez also revealed that Manchester United were indeed pursuing Sergio Ramos in a bid to bolster their defence. However, the President dismissed Uniteda s interest in the defender as he remarked that the possibility of Ramos leaving was a zeroa .

While Perez claims that it only took the club 5 minutes to reach an agreement with Ramos, the transfer saga seemed to be on the brink of spilling over on several occasions as both parties levelled charges against each other.
