Pep Guardiola Unsure Of Bayern Munich Future Amidst Manchester City Links

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola insisted he has not made any decision on his future at Bayern Munich, but, insisted that he has not received offers from any club.

With no experience of managing a club in top flight football, Pep Guardiola was a shock appointment in 2008-09 season, when he became the new FC Barcelona manager following the departure of Frank Rijkaard.

.

Guardiola went onto achieve incredible success at FC Barcelona, winning 14 off the 19 tournaments the team played during his tenure.

Guardiola then decided to move to Bayern Munich for the 2013-14 season, but, the 44 year old has now entered his final year of contract at Bayern, with reports linking him to moves to FC Barcelona and Manchester City.

Guardiola unsure of Bayern stay

However, speaking ahead of Saturday’s German Supercup clash against Wolfsburg, the former FC Barcelona coach was quoted saying by ESPN FC that he is not sure of his future at Bayern Munich.

This will be the last time I talk about it,” Guardiola told a news conference on Friday. “I have not yet decided what is best for this club — and I want to do the best for this club. I have not made a decision yet.

“When I have made a decision, I will inform [former president] Uli Hoeness, [CEO] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and [sporting executive] Matthias Sammer. That’s the situation.”

No offers for Guardiola

Despite reports linking the Spaniard with jobs at FC Barcelona and Manchester City, Guardiola said that there were no offers on the table. Former Bayern Munich captain Stefan Effenberg had been quoted saying by Bild that Guardiola was set to leave, while Qatar-based network beIN Sports has twice reported that he is set to join City.

However, Guardiola dismissed both claims.

“Maybe Effenberg knows more than me,” he said, adding: “I have not received an offer from any other club in this world.”
