Arsenal FC striker Olivier Giroud has reacted to Thierry Henry’s comments, admitting that the criticism ‘has had its effects’.
Henry has been highly critical of the French striker since last month, bashing Oliver Giroud several times, for his below-par performances for Arsenal. A month back, Henry had said that Giroud hadn’t been up to the mark and the club must buy a new forward to achieve glory.
In a recent interview with a French magazine, Olivier Giroud said, “I heard he was saying too many dull things. That was a bomb and it had its desired effect.”
Olivier Giroud has scored 14 goals for the Gunners in this season in 26 Premier League appearances. He was out of action for more than three months at the beginning of the season thanks to a painful ankle injury.
Giroud stands just behind Chilean international Alexis Sanchez in the total goals tally for the club in this season. Sanchez is at the top with 23 goals and the Frenchman ranks second with 18.
