Real Madrid confirmed in a press conference that Carlo Ancelotti, who won the Champions League in his premier season at the club, has been relieved of his duties as manager.

The manager who fulfilled Real Madrida s long awaited dream for becoming the European champions for the tenth time in his very first season at the club, has been officially sacked just one year after the achievement.

Florentino Perez confirmed in a press conference that Carlo Ancelotti will not continue as Real Madrida s manager next season. This news does not come as a shock as the club failed to win a trophy this season, ending second in La Liga and losing in the Champions League semi-final to Juventus.

a I have to tell you we have decided to relieve Carlo Ancelotti of his duties as Real Madrid manager,a Florentino Perez told the reporters at the press conference. a This has been a very difficult decision for the board.a

The president also announced that the club will reveal the name of Ancelottia s successor next week.

He said: a We will come to know the name of the new manager next week.a

Florentino P rez: “The Board of Directors remove Ancelotti as Real Madrid’s coach. His replacement will be announced nex week”. #RealMadrid

Ancelotti created history in the two seasons that he managed Real Madrid. The Italian won the club their first Champions League in 12 years and brought home the La Decima in his very first season. he went on to win the Club World Cup for the first time in Los Blancosa history and also won four trophies in one calendar year (2014), which is a club-record.

It is believed that either of Rafael Benitez or Jurgen Klopp will take over the mantle as Real Madrida s next manager.
